Week of May 4th, 2015

A Peek at Our Week:

Literacy- This week we will compare the ou
and ow hunk and chunk. We will also continue
working on comparing characters in fairy tales.
Furthermore, we will discuss characteristics of
a fairy tale (e.g. magic, starts with once upon a
time, has royalty, etc).
Writing- Students will continue working on
narrative pieces. Our narratives are about
true stories that have happened to us.

5/27 Zoo Field Trip

Math- This week we will continue to work on

fact families for 10. Students need to know
that if 2+8=10, 8+2=10, then 10-2=8 or 10-8=2.
Social Studies: We will be working on creating
items buddy class (5th grade) to cheer them on
for KPREP testing. (testing takes place in
grades 3-5 and each class is paired with an
upper grade.

Kindergarten Homework!
Week of May 4th

Homework for the Week:

Monday- First read the words below. Then re-write the word and add the
letter e to the end of each word. Next read the new word that it makes.
(When an e is added to the end, it usually make the vowel say its name).
Finally take one word and use it in a sentence. (i.e. I hope I get a bike for my
birthday)

Tuesday Solve the following problems in the fact family.

Wednesday Write about a time you played a game. What game did you play?
Where did you play the game? Who all played the game? Who won? How did it
make you feel? Make sure to have a beginning, middle, and end.
Thursday Complete the story problems below using a picture.
Mya had 10 cupcakes for her birthday. Her sister Kaelin ate 4 of them. How
many cupcakes does Mya have left?
Kameron got 5 dinosaur toys. Then his mom gave him 3 more dinosaurs. How
many dinosaur toys does Kameron have in all?
