To Whom It May Concern:
I have had the privilege of coaching Taylor Cogswell in cheerleading for three years. I began working with Taylor as a sophomore in high school when she made the varsity sideline team. Taylor cheered three years for sideline cheer and one year in competitive cheer. Taylor is a very determined young lady. She works hard at things she may not be the best at and works even harder at things she is bound and determined to accomplish. In cheerleading this meant certain gymnastic skills, jumps, flexibility and stunting abilities. During several practices I watched Taylor work on the skills she had not yet mastered repeating them tirelessly until she achieved her goals. In addition to excelling with cheerleading Taylor certainly excelled with academics. During the 2014-2015 competitive cheer season Taylor maintained a grade point average of 3.4 and was dual enrolled in college courses. Academics are a high priority to her success in life. Taylor is always the first person to volunteer to try something new, help a teammate or coach and the community. Taylor participated in and helped coach our youth cheerleaders, she was responsible for her own team of 12+ athletes and lead them at youth football games. She gained their respect and admiration as a older cheerleader and provided positive influence. Taylor not only possesses several skills pertaining to cheerleading but life as well. She is a positive individual who knows the importance of a good laugh, how to operate as a member of a team, understands the importance of goal setting and accountability, is determined, driven and overall a great person.
