A Study And Analysis Of Cooking Oil Quality Determiner

Based On Planar Electromagnetic Sensor Array
ABSTRACT
Food inspection of palm oil cooking oil is one of the important sectors in the country however due to lack of management
and knowledge, user usually facing difficulties to identify the different between contaminant and good cooking oil which is
can cause negative effects of healthy. Based on the current inspection operation, it takes tedious operational procedures
which usually involve purchase expensive equipments and spent a lot of time to complete the task. This project suggests an
alternative method for the detection of contamination by developing a sensor array with the combination of planar
meander and interdigital electromagnetic sensors for identify the content in cooking oil contamination. The main objective
is to fabricate the sensor array using printed circuit board (PCB). For this project one new configuration of planar
electromagnetic which is built in series on one board. An experimental setup consists of impedance analyser, personal
computer and Agilent HIOKI software as the controller was developed to study on the output of the system. A set of
experiments were conducted to determine the relationship between the sensors output and the cooking oil parameter. The
performance of the system was observed where the sensors were tested with cooking oil samples taken with different type.
Based on the result, the sensor array can be expected to be used to measure the contamination in the cooking oil and the
data accuracy is compared.

CONCLUSION
Based on the result obtain, the planar
electromagnetic sensor is relevance to be
a cooking oil quality determiner and the
sensor also able to characterized the
cooking oil type depending on the oil
parameter.
