Travel Trailer Destroyed in Collision

he north junction of
Highways 10 and 16
near the Rest Stop, was the
scene of another collision
Sunday evening. There
have been a number of vehicle collisions at this intersection in recent weeks.
In the most recent accident, a southbound SUV
and eastbound truck pulling a travel trailer t-boned
at the intersection completely destroying the trailer as it rolled into the east
ditch where it came to rest
on its side.
Minnedosa Fire Department, EMS and RCMP
responded and fortunately
what could have been a
fatality turned out to have
much less serious results.
The lone occupant of
the truck was transported
by ambulance to Minnedosa Health Centre with nonlife threatening injuries
while the female driver of
the SUV and her three children were treated on scene
by paramedics.
Seeing the way a
camper or travel trailer
easily falls apart during a
motor vehicle accident is
a good reminder why passengers should never ride
in these mobile homesaway-from-home while on
the road. They are simply
not built to withstand any
sort of collision.
