8th grade Book Talk Report

Due: Tuesday, May 1, 2012


Guidelines:
Choose a book that you have enjoyed reading.
You must have read the book within the last year.
Books you have read as part of a novel study in classes DO NOT
COUNT.
If you have seen the movie, but have not read the book, you may not
pick that book.
You must know the exact title of the book.
You must know the authors first and last name.
You must remember enough about the book to produce both a written
and oral summary.

This is worth 150 points.


Either typed or written in blue or black ink (pencil will cost you 30 points):
Write the exact title of the book (10 points)
Write the authors first and last name ( 10 points)
Write a persuasive summary consisting of 2 paragraphs (paragraphs
should have 6-8 sentences each) (60 points)
****Dont tell the ending!****
Draw, color, or create a visual aid of the book to present in class ( 20
points)
Present your summary to the class, persuading your classmates to
read the book you chose (50 points)

You may not rewrite the summary from the back of the book or from an
internet site. Summaries must be in your own words.
You must be ready to present on Tuesday, May 1. We will not get to
everyone the first day, but you will turn in your assignment on that day. We
will continue to present all week until everyone has had a turn.
