Five groups have come together with Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County to build a house for a local family. Twin Lakes Community is leading its fourth Building on Faith project in the county. The partner groups will construct a new home for Kasheba King, a single mother of three children, at 1004 Sidney Avenue in Burlington. The house will be completed in spring 2014. By working together, the organizations hope to build homes, strengthen communities, and provide hope for families in need.

5 Groups Band Together to Build House in Partnership with Local Family
This is Twin Lakes' 4th Building on Faith project in Alamance County Twin Lakes Community is currently spearheading its 4th Building on Faith project in Alamance County. Begun on November 2, this project pairs Twin Lakes with four local church partners: Alamance Lutheran Church, Elon Community Church, First United Methodist Church of Elon, and Macedonia Lutheran Church. Habitat For Humanity of Alamance County is coordinating all workdays and construction details of the Building on Faith construction project. This year's Building on Faith partnership house is located at 1004 Sidney Avenue, Burlington. Alamance County residents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Thomas Steele, Jr., made this lot available to the ministry of Habitat several years ago. Recently a Habitat partner family selected the lot as the location for her new house. The hard-working future owner of this house is single mother of 3, Kasheba King. I am so excited about my house, said King. The house will be completed in the spring of 2014. The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County, as well as the sponsoring groups of this house, is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. In this case, the groups will build a new single family, site-built house with Ms. King. It is an honor to work with Habitat in helping others through Christian service, said TwinLakes representative, Katie Page. Habitat builds by the grace of God, one nail at a time, one day at a time. Habitat volunteers serve as Christs hands and feet with our neighbors in need, said Robin Wintringham, the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County. Habitat for Humanity validates that a community can come together for the benefit of the less fortunate. For, Ms. King, a house provides boundless opportunities for her and her children and that is truly the primary goal of Habitat.
