INTRODUCTION:
The summer internship was done at WIPRO INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING
in Sriperambedur for a period of 32 days, working for 6 days in a week from
8am to 4:30pm each day.

OBJECTIVE:
To be one of the top 10 Global manufacturing companies

ORGANISATION:
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, a division of Wipro Enterprises Limited, has
been successfully partnering the infrastructure and engineering
developments across the globe. Specialists in designing and manufacturing
custom Hydraulic Cylinders such as Double Acting, Single Acting and

Telescopic Cylinders, Actuators and Precision Engineered Components for a


wide range of applications, Wipro caters to the following segments:

Material & Cargo Handling


Truck Hydraulics
Mining
Construction & Earthmoving
Farm & Agriculture
Aerospace & Defence

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering is a division of Wipro Enterprises Limited


that has been successfully partnering the infrastructure and engineering
developments across the globe since 1976.
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering group specializes in designing and
manufacturing custom Hydraulic Cylinders which are commonly used in
Vehicles primarily in Trucks, Farms, Engineering machines and products,
Construction and Earth-moving, Aerospace and Defense.
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering is the largest independent hydraulic
cylinder manufacturer in the world delivering 1 million cylinders per year.
The company has over 500 employees including Management employees
(ME), Non-Management employees (NME), Engineers, Assistant Engineers
and Trainees.
Employees are categorized into various Shifts such as General Shift, I-Shift,
II-Shift, III-Shift. The company functions for six days in a week for 24hrs.
Employees are provided with proper Transport facility, Food, Sanitation and
also special accommodation for Trainees.
Employees working with machines are provided with safety instruments like
Gloves, Accident Resistant Overcoats and Goggles.

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
RECRUITMENT:
The complete Recruitment process was carried out by the Student Trainee.
Trainees are recruited by campus placements from Polytechnic colleges. As

the Trainees gather for interview they are asked to fill up an Employee kit
that contains Joining report, Declaration, Personal Details and Training
certificate. The trainees are then made to undergo various Training sessions
and at the end of the day a small test shall detect about the selected
candidates.
The selected candidates are further asked to undergo medical checkup and
also to create a new bank account.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT:
The employees are engaged in their work where the Student Trainee
developed a good rapport with them during the production process.
The basic needs such as Leave card, ID card, safety equipments were given
on time. The events posted on Notice board regularly about day to day
updates kept employees posted.
DOCUMENTATION:
The Employee details were completely maintained by the student trainee
where the data of each employee would be documented according to their
employee code. Other HR files were also documented and maintained.
TIME OFFICE:
Management of all chores that relates with employees were done by student
trainee such as maintaining their leave cards, providing ID cards, Issuing
safety equipments, maintaining records and so on.
EYE CAMP:
An Eye camp was organized on 16th May 2015 where it was completely
organized by the student trainee. The list of employees who did the checkup
was noted down and documented. It was from 10am -4:30pm which covered
255 employees out of 400 registered.
LEARNINGS:

Trainee developed an effective communication with employees.


Trainee developed a skill to manage workload and
simultaneously.
Trainee learned the managerial skill of being a Leader.

Trainee learned about the necessary decision making skills over the
situation.
Trainee overall developed a successful rapport building skill.

CONCLUSION:
The summer internship at Wipro Engineering Ltd, was a fruitful one to learn
and develop more experience into the management functions and operations
that elicit the potential of the student trainee.
