Optimize Windows 8 Performance

1. Delete Temp Files in following locations:

Delete = Select All Files, Press Shift + delete button simultaneously


Permanently deletes files!

C:\Windows\Temp

C:\Users\<userID>\AppData\Local\Temp

Empty/Delete Recycle Bin Data: C:\$Recycle.Bin or C:\Recycler

Install and run: CCleaner

S:\Software\Utilities\CCleaner - ccsetup418.exe

Run Temp File Cleaner


o

S:\Software\Utilities\TFC - Temp File Cleaner Right Click and run


as administrator

2. System Performance - Configuration:

Go to Windows Start Screen Search (WinKey + Q) and search for

advanced system settings


o Visual Effects Tab > Adjust For Best Performance
o Advanced Tab >
Processor Scheduling Programs
Virtual Memory Change > uncheck checkbox > select
custom size > specify size as per recommended figure
3. Startup
- Task Manager > Startup > Disable Unnecessary Software/Services
o C:\Users\<em>username</em>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Wi
ndows<br>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- Enable Fast Start-up:
o Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System
Settings Fast Start-up Enabled
4. Optimize Drives:
- Disk Clean-up:
o Search Disk cleanup tool
o Delete/Free Up all possible space
- Search > Defragment > Optimize drives > enabled > Weekly!
5. Enable Windows Defender (if not done already):
- Search for Windows Defender and enable!
Only for more tech savvy users:
6. Your systems performance wont improve just by turning on God Mode,
but with God mode, you can easily access all the Administrative options
and make the necessary adjustments you want
- Go to > Desktop > Create: New Folder >
Folder Name: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
