ASWSUV Seventeenth Senate 2007-08 Session

AN ACT Amending By-law {section 680.00, sub-sections 680.02, 680.05}

BE IT ENACTED BY THE ASWSUV SENATE:

Sec. 1. 680.02 reads as follows:


For a recall question to be placed on the ballot at a general election, the following criteria shall
have to be met:

Validation:
A. For a Senate recall election to be validated, it shall require twenty (20) percent of
voter turn-out of the ASWSUV membership.
B. For an Executive or Executive-Elect recall election to be validated, twenty (20)
percent of voter turn-out of the ASWSUV membership.

Sec. 4. 680.05 will be changed to:


Validation:
A. For a Senate recall election to be validated, it shall require a twenty (20) percent
voter turn-out of the ASWSUV membership.
B. For an Executive or Executive-Elect recall election to be validated, it shall require a
twenty (20) percent voter turn-out of the ASWSUV membership.

STATEMENT OF FACT:
This amendment adds “special election” to section 680.02, the rest of the section remains the same. It also
changes the wording of section 680.05 so that it is grammatically correct and more accurately conveys the
spirit of the section.
