RESCUE ME!
TABLEAU ASSIGNMENT
Grade 10 Drama
Learning Goal:

To use TABLEAUX to tell a story and show character

PART A:
You will create a situation in which a character needs to be rescued. Each
rescue must fail at least twice (successful rescues are not necessary). You
will need to do a (detailed!) W5 analysis for each character.
You will then create a series of 5 tableaux that tells your story CLEARLY!
You MUST use all the principles of tableauX! At least one character must
stay in the same position for the entire performance.
Success Criteria:
-

Detailed staging that includes each of the STAGING PRINCIPLES

(levels, variety in positions, triangles)
Detailed tableaux that include each of the PRINCIPLES OF
TABLEAUX (middle of an action, limbs extended, supporting
weight, clear relationship)
Clear and effective story
Detailed W5 analysis on a separate sheet
Smooth and professional transitions and introduction
Effective use of rehearsal time

PART B:
Part B is secret.
