About Tornado
Tornado

Tornado? What is it
means?
Tornado is dangerous, spinning

windstorms
They are also called twisters
Common happen in the Midwestern

and Southern parts of the US

Many tornadoes strike an are called

Tornado alley
Most of them form during the spring

and summer month

Warm weather makes stroms

stronger
Most happen between 3:00 PM until

7:00 PM

The Process of Tornado

Process
Form inside powerfull thunderstroms called

supercells
Supercells form when masses of warm, wet air
meet masses of cool, dry air
The warm and cold air masses travel at
different speeds and directions
Warm air is lighter than cool air so warm air
rises above cool air

As the warm air rises, it cools

Water in the air forms huge clouds
Wind shear makes warm and cool air masses

turn
Rotate around each other
Sometimes an updraft hits the rotating air
makes the rotating air stand up
This rotating air dips down below the storm
clouds
Touch the ground and it has become a tornado

Still about Tornado

The wind speed of
tornadoes

Enhanched Fujita

EF 0 : Branches are broken off from

trees
EF 1 : Cars are pushed off

Between 65 to more than 200 miles per hour

Scientists use the EF scale to measure

tornadoes

EF 2 : Large trees are blown down

EF 3 : Trains are knocked over
EF 4 : Weaker houses are thrown

through the air

EF 5 : Strong houses are thrown

through the air

Last but not least

Tornadoes also can form above the water

called waterspouts
Just be aware of Tornado, because Tornado is a
very dangerous situation to be faced
Tornado is not a disaster that can be avoid,
but we still can anticipate it
