Telephony
The public telephone. Telephone systems, Telephone circuits and switching systems.
Telex Systems Transmitter and receiver systems/
Television
Fundamental principles of electronic inter load scanning and synchronization. Modulation of video and
audio signals Camera tube. Vision-missing, pulse generation and signal distribution of closed circuit
systems. Colour television.
Radar
Principle of Radar.
Radar range equation, Introduction to simple Radar System.
Satellite Communications
Orbits, launching of objects in to space.
The satellite communications concept (up-link and down link). Frequency band. Calculation of path loss,
Gain, EIRP, Power density. C/N and G/T.
Modulation Formats And Access Techniques
Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time division multiple Access International. Domestic
and regional satellites.
Lab Outline
Local subscriber loop Call setup Trunk calls. Telephone exchange. Digital telephone exchange. Super
heterodyne, AM & FM receiver, Understanding of TV systems and faults, Radar and satellite operation.
