o Pipes stacks should not exceed seven layers or 2 meters in height.
o Make sure pipes are stacked in a pyramid manner or make sure the
pipes are stacked properly with supports at both sides.
7. EXECUTION
7.1

Preparatory Works
o Check the availability of latest approved working drawing.
o Check whether the area is clear for installation.
o Review the Risk assessment with the current site conditions.
o Check the size and class of pipes as per drawing / Material Submittal.
o Check for any physical damage to the pipes and fittings.
o Mark the location of trench preparation for laying pipes.
o Make sure that the pipe or fittings are dry, clean and free from grit for
pipe fittings.

7.2

Trench Preparation and Supports

execution, trench supporting, inspection of trench before and after
trench preparation etc.
o The trench should not be excavated too far in advance of pipe laying
and should be backfilled as soon as possible. Trench widths should be
narrow as practicable but not less than pipe OD plus 300mm to
enable proper compaction of side fill.
o Future provision for floor drain, Area drain, Trench drain, WC outlets,
Oil & Grease Interceptor should be coordinated with steel structure
works.
o The wooden box shall be provided for future provisions with required

o Make sure that pipes are cut properly to 90.
o De-burr the edges, clean both end of the pipe and fittings for
necessary thermal fusion.
o Position the pipe in the raft foundation at given / required level as per
approved construction drawing and verify it with leveling instrument.
o Make sure that pipe & fitting are correctly aligned.
o Pipes are joined together by butt welding & electro fusion welding will
be applied wherever required.
o 100% Visual inspection will be carried out for all fusion joints.
o On completion of each pipe section, check and adjust if necessary to
ensure the proper level and alignment of pipe then fix proper clamp
to maintain its location & level
o After completing the pipe works, compression type rubber plugs with
bleeding caps to be installed for drain outlets & one outlet to be
extended to 3 mtr height for testing.
o Installation check list to be issued for consultant approval.

7.3

Hydrostatic test:
o Flush the all drainage pipes with clean water to remove all dirt /
debris before conducting the hydrostatic test.
o All openings in the piping will be tightly closed by compression type
rubber plug with bleeding caps and the system filled with water to
the point of overflow from the highest point. The plugs can be
temporally opened by using bleeding caps to make sure that all air
has been vented and that water has reached all parts of the system.
o The sewer or drain under test should be left with filled water for any
physical leak in the system. If any leaks in joints or evidence of
defective pipe or fittings are revealed, the defective pipe / fitting
