I would like to be considered for a teaching position at Jefferson Elementary as one of your
elementary teachers. I am a new graduate from Idaho State University, although I have several
years of classroom experience working with teachers and students in kindergarten through third
grade levels. The elementary age group is particularly appealing to me, because students are very
impressionable, interested in learning, and open to new concepts.
With my experience as a reading paraprofessional in an elementary school setting, I have been
able to help students of all different educational backgrounds, with or without learning
disabilities, to master basic skills they need to thrive in later grades. I have worked with teachers
and students to develop a curriculum that meets the individual needs of the student. It takes a lot
of nurturing and patience, and my goal is to combine my range of experience with my ability to
be compassionate, enthusiastic, and a gifted teacher who will make a positive contribution to
your school district.
