A Visual Argument
Describe image: Last Saturday, I walked in kitchen and saw the green
sprouts all over on the yams in black basket. The sprouts are slowly growing
without me knowing. I wonder how long has those yams been here. Turn on
calendar on my phone to count; it has been 8 weeks since my aunt had picked
those yams then she gave them to my family on the next day. We stored them at
room temperature where avoid excessive heat; no wonder the sprouts grow so
well.
Analysis: Sprouted yams are safe to eat but the taste is not good
because they have lost nutrients. I wonder to cook them or just throw them away;
without wasting heat to cook then why not throw them away since they do not
bring much benefit to my body. On other hand, throwing them way is such a
waste because many people want those yams badly but I want to dump them in
trash because they are not fresh and lack of nutrients.
This image is powerful to make me reflect about people who lack of food
and my aunts effort to pick yams, and debate to myself what a right way to do
with those yams.
