Inserting an Image into a Word Document

Introduction
This is a tutorial dedicated to instructing users on how to understand the
functionality of Microsoft Offices file insertion process. People often choose to
insert files into their documents in order to capture readers interest and enhance
the document visually. The file attachment process can be used for general files,
images, clip art, symbol, shapes, movies and audio.

Equipment Description
Microsoft Word can be obtained from many commercial outlets.
Once obtained, Word can be launched from within the /Applications folder
within OSX.
Word can also be launched by typing Word within Spotlight search and hitting
the Enter Key.
A downloaded image, such as one that may be inserted into a Word document,
will be found within the ~/Downloads folder or /Users/<your_user_name>/
Downloads.

Necessary Materials

Apple computer running OS X 10.5.8 or later

Microsoft Word 2011 or later
Compatible trackpad, mouse, or other pointing device
Image file to be inserted

Directions
Via Drag and Drop
Place Cursor
Locate your cursor at the location you wish the image to be inserted.
Note that upon insertion, the image will force other content out of the way.

Select Image
Locate your selected image within Finder.
Hover the pointer over the image.
Click and hold on the image.

Drag the Image

Drag the image over the Word Document.
Let go of the mouse button.

Via Insert Menu

Place Cursor
Locate your cursor at the location you wish the image to be inserted.
Note that upon insertion, the image will force other content out of the way.

Open Insert Menu

Click on Insert in the Menu Bar.

Click on the Photo submenu.

 Click on the option Picture from File.

Select Image
Find your image within the file browser.
Click on the image.
Click the insert button
