Grammar Chapter 4 Take Home Test

(Worth 120 pts)

Student Created Commercials

READY, SET, ACTION

For this take home test you are an advertiser/director. You will create
a commercial for four of the eight Propaganda Devices we have gone
over in class (glittering generality, testimonial, transfer, name calling, card
stacking, bandwagon, snob appeal, and reward).

Each recorded commercial needs to be 90 seconds or less. The

commercial must be selling a product, or aim to grab the viewers
attention to try to persuade them to buy into the product etc.
You can use your parents, friends, neighbors, dog, etc., in your
commercials.
Remember that you are trying to sell something. Having a great
presentation means that you will:
1. Visually record each commercial
2. Have great settings for each commercial
3. Have great products to sell
4. Use great voice/expression
5. Speak loud and clearly
6. Be creative and think outside of the box (if using original items
make sure you change the name of products)
7. Follow the attached checklist
8. Use descriptive language in each commercial
9. Complete your commercial plans paper
Your final product needs to be uploaded to Dropbox by October 21, 2015
If files needs to be separated before emailing due to size, that is fine.
Each commercial needs to have a well written and thought out plan.
Make sure you fill out the Commercial Plans paper that is attached to this
packet.
Strive for Excellence and HAVE FUN!
