Young Authors Celebration Guideline / Directions

5TH Grade Theme: The Beach!


Hello Parents,
We will be starting our Y.A.C. (Young Authors Celebration) books this upcoming week. We will be
sticking to deadlines and guidelines. While I have gone over all instructions with students, I am asking
that you become familiar with these directions and also review them with your child. Any forms along
with a copy of our Young Authors Celebration Guideline / Directions can be found on our classroom
website. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Ms. Cook
- Books must consist of:
o 8-10 typed pages minimum
o Each of the typed pages must consist of 8 (5th Grade) original sentences
o Each book must follow the template guideline located on our classroom website

o Font size is 14
o Font is Times New Roman, Rockwell, or Impact
o 6 pages of your book will consist of a drawing/color to go with your
story.
o One Striving for Excellence book cover
o Follow the checklist that is attached to make sure you are on the
right track!

Young Authors Celebration Checklist (120pts)

no later than 8am, December 15, 2015. Please do not worry about
uploading illustrations to Dropbox.
