Moser shows superior equestrian skills at shows

Reagan Cabaniss, Senior

Imagine being in a different state, competing in a

hard competition. The only
people cheering for you are
your mom and maybe the
two friends you met from
the last show.
Morgan Moser, fr., has
been in this situation several times and plans to continue her ride to the top.
She started participating in Ponys of America
shows at age 11. In these
shows she does two styles
of riding, English and
Western.
Mosers current show
horses name is Ringostar,
also known as Ringo. Moser has had Ringo for two
years and has made a special bond with him. I was
young when I got him. He
was rough to start with, but
after training with him, we
became closer, she said .
Moser has traveled to
eastern Oklahoma, Texas
and all the way to Colorado. Most of her shows
take place in Fort Worth or
Tulsa.

Traveling with her is her

mother, Dara Moser. Side
by side, she is her number
one supporter.
To get ready for the
shows, Moser puts a lot of
heart and dedication into
it. The preparation before
shows is very hard, but
during the shows, I have a
lot of fun, said Moser.
Preparation involves riding Ringo, bathing him,
cleaning the saddles, and
learning the patterns.
All of her commitment
pays off though. At the age
of 12, she was named sixth
in the nation for her horse
showing, and since then
has received several ribbons, plaques, and medals.
This sport is not cheap.
The clothing is expensive:
cowboy hats, boots, spurs,
sparkly shirts, helmets, and
chaps all vary prices. Then
she has to pay for personal trainers, and saddles
for English, Western, and
Gaming shows.
Show season is practically year round, and I
have a show once or twice

a month, but I have the

months of December and
January off, she said.
This young, honors student often needs the aid of
her family to help make
competitions
possible.
Morgan works extremely
hard all year round. I am
either taking her to Cordell
after school or my mom
is driving her down to Ft.
Worth to be with her horse
trainer, said her brother,
Logan Moser, sr.
Although the time spent
is hard work, Moser enjoys
the memories she is making. I have made so many
memories doing these
shows. I love hanging out
with my friends Sarah and
Andrea. They are now
great friends of mine. Sarah
lives in Edmond, and I usually ride with her to shows
in Texas. Andrea is from
Minnesota, and we attend
most horse shows together.
She is my best friend, said
Moser.
