Band receives straight 1s at Regional Contest

Ana Escobedo, Senior

For the first time ever,

the band has gained over
100 members. Our family keeps getting bigger,
said Mrs. Summer Morgan,
band director.
This month the group
traveled to Enid to compete
in the OSSAA Regional
Marching contest.
There they performed
their 2015 competition
show, Beatlemania. With
songs by The Beatles,
Lady Madonna/Magical
Mystery Tour, Eleanor
Rigby, Blackbird, the routine features Junior Trumpeter, Sarah Holman.
In order to receive a
superior marching rating,
the band had to have four
minutes of movement and
five minutes of music. This
was the first time the band
has marched a drill made
by the head director.
After two months of

Monday night rehearsals,

the band received straight
1s from a panel of three
judges.
In September the band
hosted The Hub City Invitational, the first marching
band contest to be held in
Clinton.
The band also participated in the Southwestern
Oklahoma State University
Homecoming parade on
Saturday, October 8. That
same day they received 1st
place in Class 4A.
They also participated
in the pre-game Mass Band
performance, along with
1500 students from area
schools.
On Wednesday the band
went to Lawton for The
Superior Marching Contest
and once again received
straight 1s..
In December the band
