CENTER CLOSED: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH FOR THANKSGIVING.

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to give every child the love,
support, guidance, and knowledge, in a
Christian environment that they will need
to become successful young individuals.

We planned, we worked, and we were ready!!!! We did it! Our School Color Run was a BLAST!!
Thirty five families walked, ran, and strolled at Roof Park to be blasted with Color. Thanks to
everyone who participated! We couldnt succeed without YOU!! Thank you to all who made
donations and items for the Color Run.
Childrens Garden sure knows how to have fun! Thank you for giving some of your Saturday

Michelle EarleyIt was an awesome event! My girls loved it and Katelyn amazed us with her
running ability!! They will sleep well tonight.
Thank you, teachers and staff, for a wonderful event!

Above are just a few comments posted to Facebook from families that participated in the Color
Run.
We reached a $4000 goal. Just think, if every family had participated in the Color Run, we would
have reached our goal of $15,000! We were only $11,000 short. Our parent surveys asked that
we have fewer fundraisers and we are trying to do just that, however, we budget our
fundraising money according to the participation. If every family participates in most of the
fundraisers, then we can plan to have fewer fundraisers. Our fundraising money helps to
enhance our already Awesome program. Tuition pays our staff and utility expenses. The
fundraiser and grant money is used for supplies that our teachers need to supplement their
everyday items (pumpkins, seasonal items, books, special event items, etc.) We also use
fundraising money for unforeseen expenses, i.e. air conditioning repairs, refrigeration repairs,
mold, etc. We have fundraisers for these expenditures to avoid higher tuition increases. We
appreciate everyone who participates in our fundraising endeavors. This makes our TEAM much
stronger and we have fun in the process.

EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH

Unity is strength when there is teamwork and collaboration,
wonderful things can be achieved.
Mattie Steoanek
When we look back on the month of October these individuals have proven
that with strong team work anything can be achieved. The Color Run was a
Vision that evolved into an
event that was both exciting and new.
When you think of large events you need strength, dedication and
commitment for an idea to turn into reality. These individuals are always
a strong support to our program and any Endeavour that we have going on.
It is with great pride that this months honor goes to both Lisa Frank and
Alisa Clark. These ladies
dedication to our program shines everyday if
they are either in a classroom or the office.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped with the Fall Festival Parade. The children
looked great in their costumes and the classroom parties were awesome! We hope
everyone enjoyed the day!!

A THANKFUL ATTITUDE opens windows of heaven. Spiritual blessings

fall freely onto you through those openings into eternity. Moreover, as
you look up with a grateful heart, you get glimpses of Glory through
those windows. You cannot yet live in heaven, but you can experience
foretastes of your ultimate home. Such samples of heavenly fare revive
your hope. Thankfulness opens you up to these experiences, which then
provide further reasons to be grateful. Thus, your path becomes an
upward spiral: ever increasing in gladness.
Thankfulness is not some sort of magic formula; it is the language of
Love, which enables you to communicate intimately with Me. A thankful
mind-set does not entail a denial of reality with its plethora of problems.

Instead, it rejoices in Me, your Savior, in the midst of trials and tribulations.
I am your refuge and strength, an ever-present and well-proved help in
trouble.
Habakkuk 3:17-18; Psalm 46:1

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS EXPRESS

The Childrens Garden is joining St. Johns in the Christmas Blessings Express service project.
New Hope Ministries provides a wish list of items often requested by families struggling during
Christmas. We have a Christmas tree located across from the office decorated with ornaments. Each
ornament has an blessing listed on it. We would like for each child in our program to take an ornament
and purchase the item. If every child purchases one item, we will bless at least 190 children in our
community. Bring the unwrapped item and place it under the tree. A member of St. Johns will deliver the
blessings to New Hope Ministries. You may place your blessings under the tree from November 2nd
thru November 24th. Choose and ornament, purchase the blessing, bring it in unwrapped, and bless
a child who is less fortunate than we are. Its easy, fun, and teaches our children to give to others.
The blessings are for children ages Infant thru Teens.

Family Thanksgiving Fun

A Ton of Turkey Fun

Thanksgiving Fun Snacks

Family Activities
Make a Personalized Thanksgiving Tablecloth.
Pick up some fabric markers and sacrifice an
old cloth tablecloth or bedsheet that will have
everyone talking. Instruct kids to write all over
the cloth the things and people they are thankful
for. Kids who arent writing yet can draw pictures
or dictate their blessings to big kids. Leave the
markers on the table during dinner, so adults can
add their own thanksgivings, too.

*8 oz. chocolate-flavored candy

coating, cut up into small pieces
*2 Tbsp. shortening
*1-11.5 oz. pkg. Keebler Fudge
Stripes Cookies
*1-10oz. pkg. marshmallows
*1-.68 oz. tube of yellow icing

Turkey Bowling
Fill 2 liter soda bottles half way full with sand. Spray
paint the bottles brown and add feathers. Have your
children take turns bowling for turkeys.

Turkey Feather Painting

What You Need:
Feathers
Tempera Paint
Paper
What You Do:
Provide different colors of paint on paper plates with
feathers. Encourage your children to dip the feathers
into the paint and then use them as paintbrushes on
their paper. Be sure to show your children that they
can use the quill side of the feather like a pen.
Alphabet Bodies
See if your kid can make all the letters of the alphabet
using their bodies, keeping in mind that some letters

1. Place the Cookies stripes down,

spaced evenly on wax paper.
2. In a small, heavy saucepan, melt
candy coating and shortening
over low heat, stirring
constantly until smooth. Remove
from heat. Stir in desired food
coloring.
3. Using a fork, dip 1 marshmallow
at a time into melted candy
coating.
4. Use a chopstick or skewer to
scrape off the excess melted
candy coating from bottom of
fork.
5. Using the same chopstick or
skewer push the coated
marshmallow centered on top of
a cookie. The heat from the
melted coating will make it
adhere nicely!
6. Place hat in the refrigerator for
about 20 min. until the coating
has set. Once chilled, use yellow
tubed icing and decorate the hat
with a buckle. Enjoy!
