Areas of 2-D Figures

by: Nick Sitts

Triangle
Area= (b*h)
h= 5cm
b= 8cm
-

Mulitiply 5 and 8. After that

multiply and you have your
area.
Make sure to use units^2

Square
Area= s^2 or l*w (same as rectangle)
s= side
-

so for our equation, square 15.

15^2= 225
So the area of the square is
225m^2.

Rectangle
Area= length*width
-

For this equation, 5*2=10.

The answer is 10 cm^2.

Rhombus
Area= base*height
-

The picture sums it up.

Just multiply the base and
height.
7*10= 70cm^2

Trapezoid
Area= height(base#1*base#2)
-

First multiply the bases.

Second, multiply the height and
.
Finally, multiply the two
together.
(11mm)(12mm*18mm)
1188mm^2

Circle
Area= (radius)^2
-

Square 21.
-

Multiply pi by 441.
-

441
1385.4

1385.4ft^2
