II. ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE POSITION: A. Reports to the Executive Director in the staff leadership organizational chart, while working closely with the International Headquarters Administrative Staff (the Administrative Director and Operations & Communications Director). III. MINISTRY PURPOSE: A. To Promote the Mission and Vision of Sports Outreach Institute while providing Compassion Ministry Support for various programs and activities within Sports Outreach Institute in accordance with this position description. IV. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE POSITION: A. COORDINATION OF COMPASSION AND PRAYER MINISTRIES 1. Identify special needs of staff, supporters, and those to whom SOI ministers. 2. Coordinate prayer teams on behalf of those in need. 3. Send letters, cards, e-mail and other literature as a means of encouragement. 4. When possible and deemed advisable, makes personal visits and calls the individual in need. 5. Working with appropriate ministry staff, develop strategies and tools to facilitate opportunities for churches to pray for SOI and those whom we minister to. 6. Participate with other ministry staff to share prayer requests and answers to prayer, promote awareness, and communicate kingdom needs, while maintaining appropriate confidentialities. 7. E-mail all ministry staff (and other individuals as directed) the monthly prayer and praise chart compiled from information received from our ministry supporters. 8. Facilitate various compassion and prayer activities and events. 9. Provide resources on prayer to staff members and prayer groups when requested. B. FACILITATE OTHER MINISTRY OR ADMINISTRATIVE PROJECTS AS DIRECTED.
V. POSITION COMPENSATION – WORK HOURS, SALARY, AND EXPENSES:
A. This position is compensated according to the individual staff member’s budget approved annually by the SOI Board of Directors.
