I. Purpose of the Job:


Provide leadership, oversight, and coordination within the Highlands Students department, including
clarifying and casting vision to each Student Campus Leader.

II. Experience and Knowledge Required:


 Ability to lead teams effectively

the Highlands
 Organizational, practical and goal-oriented leadership

 Professional representation of Highlands and the Lord in all things

III. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


 Lead Highlands Students across all campuses by providing vision and direction and helping
students becoming planted and thriving in the local church.
 Oversee the Highlands Students staff in day to day affairs, including creating content and providing
resources to every Highlands campus for students.
 Spend time evaluating and developing the Highlands Students staff and providing support for
efforts relating to students at Highlands.
 Spend time evaluating and developing each Student Campus Leader and identify next steps for
them and their campus through weekly meetings and campus visits.
 Spend one on one time with each Student Campus Leader and visit their campus for evaluation on
a regular basis.
 Communicate and receive information from Student Campus Leaders on a weekly basis.
 Insure that the systems and structures in place for Highlands are used to help students take their
next step.
 Regularly communicate with Campus Pastors and other departments on behalf of the Highlands
Students team for all efforts, activities and status within Highlands Students.
IV. Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Ministries Small Groups Hub
 Provide leadership and oversight for pastoral care to all small groups within the Hub by cultivating
and maintaining a shepherding relationship with leaders, coaches, and captains.
 Design, development, implement, and regularly communicate the vision, mission, and strategy for
the Hub.
 Lead efforts and build teams to recruit, train, and release captains, coaches and small group leaders.
 Provide clear direction and empower leaders, coaches, and captains within Hub to perform ministry
through small groups.
 Serve as direct oversight for Campus Hub Leaders and remain in communication with them
 Maintain the infrastructure within Hub. Regularly plan and facilitate meetings of Hub leaders and
captains (and coaches when possible) for the purpose of coaching, developing community and
general communication. Oversee efforts for the pre-semester, semester and post-semester meetings
and evaluations.
 Track and report defined statistics with efforts to monitor and manage the “health” of Hub-
leadership base and group members.
 Assist Small Groups pastor with the development and implementation of Church-wide strategy for
the particular Hub (i.e. coordinate efforts to include and assist all campuses with small group
efforts to ensure uniformity and consistence throughout).
 Regularly communicate with Campus Small Groups Coordinators on all efforts, activities and
status within Hub.

Highlands College
 Be available to train and lead Highlands College as needed for the Highlands Students department
and youth practicum
Conferences/Retreats
 Create leadership activities and small group content for conferences/retreats that fits with the
overall vision of the event.
 Provide support for any needs that might arise associated with a conference or retreat.
 Be available as needed to lead during the retreat/conference and fully involved.
