Intensive (Controlled Writing)


Purpose: Assess a students ability to produce language to display their competence in
grammar, vocabulary, and sentence formation. As well as the students ability to use proper
capitalization, punctuation, and sentence structure.
Directions: (Each sentence is worth 2 points: 0.5 points for correct capitalization, 0.5 points for
correct punctuation, and 1 point for correct use of the word in a sentence.) Test-takers read:
