List one advantage and one possible limitation of differentiating instruction using MI theory.
Rachel
Advantage: By using MI theory, all students can learn and be inspired and motivated by the same
teacher, because she will connect with their strengths.
A limitation would be that students who are not academically strong might not actually gain the
required skills to move on to the next level.
Small, Wendy
advantage: reach all students in their strengths
disadvantage: overpersonalize and get off track on curriculum objectives
B
All students will learn and feel engaged. Their needs will be met. They will also be offered a number
of choices.
One limitation: If not done right, might lead to labeling.
NHTSLI3DU
advantage: students engagement and enjoyment
limitation: comfort zone challenge
Hayat
One advantage would be that the topic or content being taught using the MI theory can tackle the
needs of every learner. However, one limitation would be to be able to find time to go through each
MI per session. The teacher would probably have to chunk the topic into different lessons to cater to
all the MI's.
2.

Small, Wendy
Be sure to have clear objectives in mind before differentiating so that assessments are made.

some are dominant over others
.
NHTSLI3DU
pulling students out if their comfort zones is sometimes very useful for them to explore different
untelligences that they have but are unaware of.. teachers should continuously stretch students
skills and abilities
Hayat
The teacher could chunk the topic into different lessons so that he/she would have enough time to
