atein febril konvlsiyona yol aabilecei dncesidir. Ailelerin byk ounluu (%80-90) ocuklar atelendiinde konvlsiyon geireceinden korkmaktadr (7, 10). Gerekten, 6 ay-5 ya grubu ocuklarn %2-4 en az bir kez
febril konvlsiyon geirir. Ancak, basit febril konvlsiyon genellikle kendiliinden dzelen, gelime geriliine yol amayan, kognitif fonksiyonlar etkilemeyen bir durumdur; kalc
nrolojik hasar brakmaz, lme yol amaz. Konvlsiyon
genellikle atein ykselmeye balad ilk dnemde oluur.
Antipiretiklerin kullanlmas febril konvlsiyon riskini azaltmaz (14). Yenileyen febril konvlsiyonu olan ocuklarda
proflaktik parasetamol verilmesi etkili deildir, atei ve febril konvsiyonun yenilemesini nlemez (21).
zetle, ate enfeksiyonlara kar immun yant glendirmesi ynyle genel olarak yararl, ok yksek deerlere
ulatnda, ar kalp veya akcier hastal olanlarda ve
uzun sren konvlsiyona neden olduunda nadiren zararl
bir reaksiyondur.

Dnya Salk rgt (DS), salkl ocuklarda antipiretik ajanlarn ate drmek amacyla rutin olarak kullanlmamasn, vcut ssnn 39 C veya zerinde olduu durumlarda antipiretik kullanlmasn nermektedir (14,15). Ancak
kardiyak veya respiratuvar yetmezlik varsa, antipiretik ajanlarn 02 tketimini, CO2 retimini ve kardiyak outputu azaltabilecei; bu nedenle byle hastalarda atein drlmesinin yararl olabilecei bildirilmektedir (31).
sorbsiyon, yetersiz teraptik etki ve sk rektal dozlarn uygulanmasna bal toksik etki potansiyeline sahiptir (39). Fitillerin blnerek kullanlmas da doru deildir. Suppozituvarda
ila eit olarak dalmad iin, fitilin blnerek kullanlmas
durumunda doz ayarlamas yapmak olanakszdr.
