Weekly Highlight

Class News!
Please welcome our new aide, Lainie Pugh! Ms.
Lainie has a tremendous amount of experience as
well as a degree in education! She is passionate
about supporting students and will be a
monumental addition to our class! She begins
Friday January 15. In the mean time Mr. Max will
be filling in as our substitute aide.
Sight word assessments begin next week. Please
see the green letter that came home today. This
and other resources can also be found on our
website and in an email attachment.

This week I have been truly amazed by

our learners. They came in Monday
ready to hit the ground running. Weve
introduced new routines, established
new class rules, and taken ownership of
our classroom with new class jobs.
They have approached new challenges
with so much determination, its as if
they never left the classroom!

How can you help?

We will begin Guided Reading Groups in the next

couple of weeks. Students will be meeting with me
in small groups to learn from other readers on
their level and explore strategies to help them
solve words and understand what they are
reading.
