Costume notes

Flashback scene:
In the flashback scene, our two actors,
Michael (on the left) and Odain, known
as James in the film (on the right) are
both dressed up smartly in suits. The
significance of this was because they
were at a cemetery due to their parents
deaths.
The black suits symbolised
respect as well as death, which shows
that they are still mourning the death of
their parents. However we can see a
difference in how they are represented
in the colour of their shirts. Michael is
wearing a dark blue shirt, which is seen
to have the connotation of being sadder
about the situation, whereas Odain is
wearing a light pink colour shirt. This
shows that Odain has passed mourning
and has the understanding that his parents have passed away without
feeling sad anymore.

Rooftop scene:

Michael here on the right, is wearing all

black. He is wearing a smart black
overcoat, with a black shirt and trousers
and shoes. The reason for him to wear all
black was to connote death and show that
he is depressed. The black shows that he
is feeling dull and that there is no
brightness in his life that is making him
happy or wanting him to even be alive. I
think that it was well chosen and that it
clearly shows his representation

On the left, Odain is wearing a casual

outfit. He is wearing a plain great T-shirt
with black jeans and black boots. The
representation of this was to show that
the situation was not planned and that
he was going about in his ordinary day.
It shows that it was an emergency and
that he came straight away when he
had found out where Michael was. I
think this was a great choice as he
wasnt over dressed or it wasnt over
planned, and that it was just natural,
and how he was in an emergency.
