Name of Journey: The Origin

Explain your artifact final product and ALL the steps you took to create it.
The final product was a fifteen minute interview in which I interviewed my sister about her hardships in life. I
used the Storycorps app for some questions, and I also made questions along the way as well.

What is the most important thing you learned during this process?
The most important thing that I learned was that my sister and I have so much in common that I had never
known before. We each had very similar difficulties in life, but we never cared to talk to each other about them.

Explain the significance of your artifact and how it connects to the narrative.
During the interview my sister talked about how our parents struggled to give us a better life. She also talked
about personal challenges that brought her down at times. In my narrative, I also talked about my parents
difficulties and my own challenges as well.

What do you wish you had spent more time on or done dierently?
I wish I had prepared more questions because some of the ones that I asked, I made along the way, and they sounded very
similar to previous ones. I would have wanted my questions to have something different in the response, rather than the
same answer twice.

What did you find most challenging during this task?

The challenging part, I believe, was listening to what my sister had to say. It was hard to listen to her, talking
about difficult challenges she had while growing up. It was difficult to hear her talk about our parents, letting
me know that I am not the only one who cares and is worried about our parents.
