Minutes of the extraordinary meeting of Old Hutton & Holmescales Parish Council on Monday 18 January

160118-4 Grant application to the Armistead Community Fund


a) An application to the Armistead Community Fund for a grant of 5,000 for the purchase of duct and fibre for
the broadband network was approved unanimously (proposed by Ruth Rigg, seconded by Alison Nelson)
b) The Parish Council agreed unanimously to pay from the councils funds 10% of the sum awarded in the grant
to Banks for administration (proposed by John Shorrock, seconded by Alison Nelson)
160118-5 Lease
The Parish Council approved unanimously the leasing of parish council-owned duct and fibre (bought with grants) to
B4RN for 999 years for a peppercorn rent (proposed by John Shorrock, seconded by Alison Nelson).
160118-6 Grant Application to SLDC
The Parish Council agreed unanimously to approve an application to the SLDC Local Improvement Project Fund for a
grant of 20,000 for an electronics cabinet for the broadband network (proposed by Alison Nelson, seconded by John
Shorrock). This application will be by New Hutton Parish Council on behalf of the three parishes involved: New Hutton,
Old Hutton & Holmescales, and Preston Patrick.
160118-7 Bridge closure and state of the roads
It was reported that work to place a temporary bridge over St Sundays Beck is planned to start at the end of the week.
Concern was expressed about the damage caused by heavy traffic diverting along the narrow lanes.
