Subject:
Our social action film we be on Age Concern. Age concern
is an organisation that aims to promote the welfare and
the relief of poverty, sickness and disablement among
older people living in Derry and to alleviate loneliness and
social exclusion. The organisation is committed to
addressing the needs, fears, anxieties, and concerns of
older people from all sections of the community.
Age Concern Derry provides older people with an easily
accessible facility that is warm and comfortable. The
programmes are concentrated on providing opportunities
for older people to meet and participate in activities in an
atmosphere that is conducive to developing mutual
understanding and trust. Activities at Age Concern are
provided free of charge.
Plan:
The film will begin with a short two-minute narration; it will
cover Age Concerns history, how it started, where they
are and what they do. There will then be an interview with
Eilish ODoherty, the woman who runs Age Concern. After
that there will be interviews with the various volunteers
and staff. The film will conclude with interviews with the
people who go to Age Concern
