Progress Report Presentation
IOT BASED MINI INVERTER
BRAGA G.W 216084407
B.Tech Power Engineering
4Th year Student
1.INTRODUCTION
• This report serves as the progress made in the design of an IOT based
smart inverter
• DC to AC power inverters, which aim to efficiently transform a DC power
source to a high voltage AC source, similar to power that would be
available at an electrical wall outlet.
• An arduino module is integrated with a GSM module to offer wireless
switching of the inverter.
2.Progress Summary

2.1 Technical Progress

Work Done
• Create a SPWM signal using Arduino(see appendix for code)
• Simulation of this code in ISIS.
Technical Progress
Work to be done
• Output of a SPWM signal level up Using a Mosfet driver
• Using this output to drive MOSFETS.
• Interface Arduino module with GSM .
• Production of PCB layout.
Administrative Progress
Work Done
• Reviewed Project Proposal Submitted.
• Research in producing a sine wave generator concluded.
Work in Progress
• Consultation with mentor is an ongoing process.
• Ordering of components.
Administrative Progress
Work to be Done

Problems Encountered
• The main problem faced in the design process is producing a pure sine
through Pulse Width Modulation.
• Choosing the best switching devices while keeping everything within the
allocated budget limit.
• Keeping up with proposed timeline has also been challenging with some
activities expected to have delays and extensions needed.
Changes in Requirement
• The author has realized it is not possible to construct a 1kW pure sine
inverter as it might stretch the budget as allocated in the proposal.
• As per the timeline initially proposed a revised version of the remaining
activities might be need to move the dates a further forward.
Work Scheduled for next Phase
• Design of a signal driver for the mosfet for swithching
• Design of control switching using Arduino and GSM module.
• PCB Production
• Assembling of circuit components
• Final project Documentation completion.
Conclusion on progress made so far
• The project has been gradually picking up pace and completion is not far
from execution hence an estimated time of two months will be enough to
complete it altogether.
