Year 1RHA Weekly Update (Jan 18th-22th)

Learning Experiences
Maths:
Students looked at different forms of graphs.
Students explored how they could use graphs to
record information and then to analyse that
information. Students used pictographs, tally
charts, and bar graphs to find out what peoples
favourite foods were and which ones were the
most popular. Students also answered some
simple questions about their graphs.

Literacy:

Students looked at th, wh, ch, and sh. Students


practiced spelling words using these letters.
Students also wrote about a picture. Students
participated in guided reading groups and looked
at different reading strategies. Students also
completed independent literacy tasks.

Tet Fair February 4th

Inquiry: Students completed their unit of inquiry


on Food. Students finished their summative
project by first drawing their favourite meal. Then
they picked one item from their meal and
illustrated the process that food went through to
get from a farm to their plate. Students also roll
played the process of bread. Some students were
farmers; others were truck drivers, factory
workers and sales clerks at a supermarket.
