Year 1RHA Weekly Update (March 14th-18th)

Learning Experiences
Maths:
Students began to practice mental maths
strategies to find doubles of numbers. This is
the foundation for multiplication. This was
challenging for some students but enjoyable for
all as we played many games to help us explore
this concept. We also reviewed 3d shapes and
looked at some groups that we might make.

English:

Reminders
Sports day Thursday Match 24th at TT from 8-12.
Open day March 19th.

Inquiry: Students began a new unit on Imagination.


Students began by listening to a poem about magic
shoes. Students then thought about where their
magic shoes would take them and what it would look
like. Students then made their magic shoes.
Students also drew pictures of what their
imaginations look like.

We continued to learn about ng, x, oo, and


magic e. Students practiced writing words
with similar ending and beginning sounds. We also
