Welcome to the latest

edition of the newsletter!

Its been a tough (but still fun as
always) week with lots of children and
staff suffering from poor health. One
day this week we had 25 children off
which is 18% of the school. We are
praying for a healthy recovery for
everyone over the weekend!

SCHOOL NEWS

SIAMS Inspection OUTSTANDING!

We are pleased to announce that the school has been graded as outstanding in the SIAMS inspection last
week for our church school distinctiveness. Obviously we are really pleased to have the school recognised
like this and see it as great achievement for the whole school community. The report can viewed on the
school website and we have also sent home a paper copy to all families. There are some lovely comments in
the report which we are really proud of and the inspector, whilst being impressed with the school as a
whole was particularly impressed by the children of St Oswalds. That, of course, is no surprise to any of
us!

Robins and Wrens Teddy Bears Picnic

This week the Robins and Wrens held a teddy bears picnic and invited grandparents to attend to share
memories of their toys from the past. It was a lovely community event thanks to all those grandparents
who attended.

Club Update
All clubs are on as usual next week except Year 3/4 football which will start on Monday 1 February.

School Website
I have quite a number of notifications on the school website for children who have been locked out of
their accounts due to multiple log in failures. Please check with your child that their log in details are still
working and if not, please contact Mr Wallace for replacement log in details.
When you log in to the website why not take a look at your childs class community and check out the blogs
that are on there. These are a great way of sharing and celebrating our school learning.

Parking / Traffic
Please can I once again impress upon ALL parents the need to drive and park safely and considerately
around school. This week I have a report of a driver outside school mounting the kerb and driving with
two wheels on the pavement directly outside school. This sort of recklessness is only going to end up with
an accident, the consequences of which do not bear thinking about. I know that the vast majority of
parents do drive safely and considerately but it only takes one incident and someone will be seriously hurt.
I would ask that if you witness any dangerous driving or parking you report it to me.
Thank you for your cooperation.

PTA Update
A PTA meeting was held last week and you can now see the minutes of the meeting by visiting our school
website www.stoswalds.com and looking in the PTA section under the Parents tab. There are a number of
events planned and the dates have been added to the school calendar. The PTA would like to express
their thanks to Mrs Helen Fielding who has recently stepped down from the role of treasurer having done
an excellent job.
