The safe place for all to grow in friendship, body and mind within the foundations of the

Christian faith.

Welcome back to school for the summer term! This week the sun has been shining, the children have

been on the field, there are lots of summer dresses being worn and Mr Dooley has had his shorts on! It
definitely feels like summer! We have a very busy term planned with lots of exciting learning
opportunities for the children.

Classes are starting their new Learning Challenges (topics) this term which marks a slight change in the
way we teach the children. Look out for the new style curriculum newsletters which will be online next
week. You should have also received a copy of the annual parent questionnaire to complete. Please
take the time to fill this in and send back to school. Your views are important to us.
Enjoy the sunshine!

All clubs start next week, thanks for all the responses. Please note however that Block Play club will

not start now until the following week on May 5 due to Robins Cake and Coffee next Tuesday and the

On 4 April (Easter Saturday) Lily Nicholson and Sophie

Avery were confirmed at Chester Cathedral. The

confirmation and Easter Vigil service was given by Bishop

Libby, the recently appointed first lady Bishop in the Church

of England.

The photograph shows Lily, Sophie and the Bishop.

Congratulations to Lily and Sophie from everyone at St

Oswalds.

Annual Parent Questionnaire

We have sent home the annual questionnaire for parents

today (Friday). Please take time to complete this and send

back to school by Friday 1 May. As part of our school

development plan this year we are revisiting our mission statement and rewriting it for the staff,

parents, children and so on involved with the school now. Your views on this are also important to us
and I will be sending out a consultation document to all stakeholders later this term.

Football Tournament

A mixed football team of 4

boys and 4 girls from Year 6

represented the school in the

first Airbus FC schools 5 a side

tournament. On a fantastically

hot day they won 8 matches in

a row, sweeping teams aside
before very unfortunately

losing the final on penalties.

Despite the disappointment we

were really proud of all the
players as ever.
