Red Nose Day

The school council have been planning ways that we can mark Red Nose Day in
school on March 13th. We will be having a Funniest Selfie Competition with the
winner announced on Red Nose Day. We will also be having a Cake and Coffee

morning on March 13th organised by the school council. All cakes donated are to
be decorated on a Red Nose Day theme and there will be a prize for the best
decorated cake or cakes. Further details will be sent home on a flyer in the
book bags if they havent already been.

PTA Mothers Day Raffle

The PTA will be running a raffle starting next Wednesday 4th March where the children can try and win

a prize for their Mum in time for Mothers Day. There will be one prize per class and it will be 50p a go
or 3 goes for 1. No raffle tickets will be issued but each class will have a 100 square. Each go will

represent a number on the hundred square (children can choose their numbers) and the numbers drawn
from each class will be the winners. Prizes include chocolates, flowers, wine and gifts. Children will be
able to take part until Friday 13th March when the draw will take place (at the Red Nose Day coffee

morning). Children should bring their money in and there will be an opportunity to enter. All proceeds
from this will go to the PTA fund. Thank you for your support with this.

World Book Day

We will be celebrating our own world book day at St Oswalds this

year on Friday 6th March. We are asking all the children to bring in

their favourite book, during the day they will have the opportunity to
share their book with other children throughout the school. At the

end of the day, each child will bring home a World Book Day voucher.

Film Night

Thank you to all of the parent and staff helpers who made Film Night such a big success last night. The
children all had a great time and behaved really well, they should be proud of themselves! Thank you
as well to all of the parents for dropping off and collecting their children promptly, which helped to
make the evening run smoothly.

Young Voices

We have a couple of spare tickets for the Young Voices concert in Manchester next week. If anyone
needs another ticket, please contact Mrs Johnson in the school office. Tickets are priced at 19.50.

Cheshire West and Chester Sports Awards 2015

Following an amazing voting campaign on twitter our video entry for the Cheshire Active Sports School
of the Year award easily topped the table in terms of voting with over 700 votes. This was enough to

get us on the shortlist of 3 schools for the actual award. This is a great achievement in itself. We now
await the result and will let you know as soon as we can.
Free Cycle Courses

Due to the popularity of the courses that took place during half term, some further sessions have been
added for the Easter break on 13 18 April. These are now available for parents to book on-line for

their children to attend. The courses are for children from ages 5 14 years and there are also adult
cycle training courses available from complete beginners who wish to learn to ride through to a
course for the more experienced rider please visit www.cycleexperience.com/holidaycourses.
Places are limited so parents need to book early to avoid disappointment.
