In Social Studies this

week we have been studying
three empires of Africa,
Ghana, Mali, and Songhay.
Weve also been looking at
the vegetation regions, trade
routes of, and rise and decline of these empires. We
will be taking a quiz on Monday over the information we have been studying. Students should be bringing home their Social Studies
spirals to study over the weekend.
In Language Arts this week we wrote a Quatrain poem for
Valentines Day. A quatrain has four lines, and in our poems the
1st and 3rd lines rhymed and the 2nd and 4th lines rhymed. We
are also continuing to practice writing using sensory words. Ive
told students that, If they dont write it, I cant SEE their writing,
