message or lesson in a poem.
Identifying key details in a poem can
help you determine the theme.

Strategy: Stanza & Repetition:


A stanza is two or more lines of
poetry that together form a unit of a
poem. Stanzas can be the same
length and have a rhyme scheme, or
vary in length and not rhyme.

Connotation is a feeling or idea
