Wonders Unit 3 Week 4 Skills
Genre: Biography- A biography is
the story of a real persons life. It
is written by another person. It
usually presents events in time
order and may include features like
diagrams and timelines.
Skill: Point of View- Every story
has a narrator, or a person who
tells the story. The narrators point
of view tells how the narrator feels
or thinks about the characters or
events. When the narrator uses
pronouns such as he, she, or they,
the story has a third person
narrator.
Strategy: Reread- When you read
a text, you may come across facts
and explanations that are new to
you. You can reread difficult
sections to increase your
understanding and remember
important information.
Vocabulary Strategy: Latin &
Greek Suffixes-Knowing the
meaning of common suffixes can
help you figure out the meaning of
unfamiliar words. Ex: able
capable of; ist- one who practices.
