An Article for UJSR-JPIAs Journey in Becoming the Best Local Chapter
The second semester of chapter year 2015-2016 is expected to be a full packed time for University of San Jose-Recoletos Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants. Officially opened with a blast during its 2nd general assembly held at the USJR Center for Performing Arts last November 7, 2015, USJR JPIA is about to experience loads of fun and learning in this semester. Highlighted in the said opening event were the awarding of the previous semesters departmental exam topnotchers and the State of the Body Address. The mighty and brainy warriors of each empire were given certificates to recognize their exemplary performance in the bloody exams last semester. The SOBA then presented to the JPIA members the various events and activities in the 1st semester in the Secretarys Report and the current standing of the organization with regards to the finances and disbursements in the Treasurers Report. Queries regarding the organization were also addressed during the open forum following the SOBA. Following these important affairs, the whole organization also catered a small salamat paalam for the Chairman of the Accountancy and Finance Department, Mr. Edman Flores, CPA who is bound to leave the institution in pursuit of widening his careers horizons. Gifts, sweet nothings and small tokens of appreciation were given by the different empires to JPIAs beloved instructor. Sweet surprises coming in simple fudgee bar, nissin wafer and C2 solo snacks were distributed to the members for the first time in the history of general assemblies. The biggest and sweetest surprise was the unveiling of the planned activities for the 2nd semester. From the usual events like Barrio Fiesta, AOG pageant, Feasibility study defense and exhibit and accountancy week celebrations annually experienced by the JPIANs over the years in USJR, new events and more improved events are expected to come this semester. To mention a few, the improvements planned are the grand celebration of the Barrio Fiesta outside the campus and the conversion of the week-long celebration of the Accountancy Department into a month-long fun packed event. New events are also expected like the JPIAs Next Top Model, JPIA prom and JPIA year end party. The second semester is indeed anticipated to be a busy and stressful one, however the presence of these sweet surprises planned out for the semester will certainly relieve the stress and bring fun and joy to each JPIAN.
