ePortfolio Guidelines
Reasons why ePortfolios are helpful and important
1. The ePortfolio will most likely be one of the first visible search results when
college admissions officers or job interviewers look up your name. So, this will be
your first impression; make it a good one!
2. The ePortfolio is a repository for every life-changing event that you may
experience. You will be able to look back and see a concise illustration of what
you accomplished in the past years.
3. The ePortfolio inspires you to have a vision for your future. When you start, you
might be discouraged because it seems you have nothing to share. However, the
ePortfolio will give you a desire to do more. Additionally, you would be surprised
by how much you are already doing that you can put on your portfolio.
Steps toward creating a comprehensive ePorfolio
1. Go to weebly.com, a website for creating and developing ePortfolios.
2. Sign up for a Weebly account through Gmail or Facebook.
3. Select the ePortfolio site tab rather than blog or store tabs.
4. Select a professional theme of your choice.
5. Create a web address using a free subdomain provided by Weebly.
6. Go to the pages tab, at the top left corner, and select the plus sign to add any
of the following, applicable pages (you can choose a standard page or blog page
depending on the information you are providing):
a. Sports
b. Music
c. Travel
d. Hobbies
e. Showcases of your work
f. Awards/Recognition
g. Internships
h. Community service
i. Leadership
j. Rsum
7. Feel free to add other pages that might come to mind. The goal is to become a
well-rounded person. The areas you want to cultivate to become well-rounded are:
Athletics, Arts/Music, Travel, and Community Service.
8. Add personal information to the pages you just created.
9. Keep the provided tabs: Home, About, and Contact and complete the pages
by adding personal information.
10. Please email the link of your ePortfolio to slayng10@gmail.com
