MODEL PENGEMBANGAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER

Abstract
This was a developmental research which was intended to produce: (1)
character-based education development model in Natural Science learning
process in Primary School and (2) the development of character-based
education package in Natural Science learning process in Primary School
which was organized and tested theoretically and practically. Based on the
result of the theoretical review and field study conducted in the first year, a
draft of character-based education package in Natural Science learning
process in Primary School was produced. This draft contained identification
of Basic Competence, identification of indicators, identification of learning
goals, syllabus design, and Lesson Plan. In the second year, the draft was
applied in the form of character-based education development model in
Natural Science learning process in Primary School. Further, the package
and the model were reflected and revised in accordance with the needs of
the users and inputs from the experts to get final prototype. At last, the
program was socialized. Hence, this developmental research produced a
character-based education development model in Natural Science learning
process in Primary School. The development was done by applying R2D2
(Recursive, Reflective, Design and Development) model emphasizing on
the users needs based on the context (Primary School teachers, and Primary
School students). In other words, the package and the model were developed
collaboratively by involving the active users in specified environment. The
products were revised based on the authentic data adjusted to the users
needs (process/formative evaluation), tests done by the experts, and small
group test to accomplish the products (summative evaluation).
