Acceptable Use Policy for Mrs.

Daviss 7th Grade Mathematics Class


a. Acceptable class conduct rules.
1. All students are expected to come in quietly to class and begin the days bell work.
2. Students should not have cell phones out for any reason unless instructed by me.
3. Be prepared for class and have all necessary materials.
4. Raise your hand before speaking, unless we are doing group work.
5. Be respectful to others at all times.
b. Acceptable internet conduct rules.
1. Only go to the webpages you have permission to go to, unless it is a free day.
2. Be respectful to others at all times.
c. Rules for using the Computer.
1. No food or drinks shall be near or on the desk of the computer.
2. Unless you have been told otherwise for the day, please limit your computer time to 15
minutes.
3. The computer is to be used for work and studying only, unless it is a free day.
4. Make sure you get your computer with your assigned number and reconnect it to the
charger before leaving class.
5. Be responsible and handle the computer with care at all times. (No horseplay)
d. Rules for using the Internet.
1. No social media, unapproved games or YouTube is allowed, unless it is a free day.
2. Do not give out any personal information to anyone online.
3. Absolutely no bullying of any kind will be tolerated.
4. Only approved websites should be visited.
5. Never give your log-in or password information to anyone.
e. Consequences for breaking the rules.
1. 1st offense Warning
2. 2nd offense Loss of computer time.
3. 3rd offense Sent to the Principals office.
4. Depending on the severity of the offense these rules may be escalated as needed.
f. Copyright Information
1. Do not use, copy, or distribute copyrighted works from any source without the use of proper
citations to give credit to the original author. It is against the law.
2. The penalty for unlawful use of copyrighted material may include disciplinary action, civil
litigation and criminal prosecution.
g. Plagiarizing Information
1. Plagiarism is making it look as though the authors work is your own by not using the proper
citations, copying someone elses work, changing a few words to make it look slightly
different, or even using your own previous work without citing yourself.
2. Penalties for plagiarism may include a partial or total loss of your grade for the given
project, letter sent home to parents, referral to Principals office, suspension, and explosion.
