A note from Mr. Field:

Safe and Secure Entrance- Coming this Spring Break!
Dear Parents,
We are excited to share that construction for our new safe and secure entrance will
take place the week of April 1st-8th while students are gone for spring break. As you
can see from the diagram, this new addition will include constructing a wall, with
doors, that will block off the main academic hallway from the lobby area. These doors
will remained closed and locked during the school day, but will open at the end of the
school day to allow our students who are walkers or being picked up by a parent to
exit through the lobby.
When coming for an appointment during the day the doors leading into our lobby
will be open, but the doors leading into the front office area will remained locked and
office staff will buzz you in. Providing this extra safety precaution will allow our
office staff to best supervise all incoming and exiting visitors.
When we return from spring break, well be sure to have signs to help you acclimate
to our new procedures.
Have a great weekend,

Brian Field

From the Art Room:

It was great seeing many families during
conferences this past week! Thank you for your
encouragement and support of our young artists.
There are many Art display opportunities
coming up that I want to share with you.
First our 16th Annual District Art Show is April
18-26. Each year our elementary, middle, and
high school Art teachers collectively select
hundreds of the very best works of art created
by our talented students. Save the date now you won't want to miss this spectacular show at
Hudsonville City Hall, 3275 Central Blvd open
weekdays 8-5 April 18, 2016 - April 26, 2016.
After Spring Break special invites will be sent
home with the individual students who have an
art piece featured in the art show.
Park Artist Reception 5:30-7:30pm, Monday
April 25
Secondly something new! Some of our art will
also be traveling to Biggby! We were invited by
Biggby to have an art show at their 32nd Street
location. Starting April 27- May 4, 2016 please
stop by the Biggby coffee shop on 32nd Street,
north of 196 and vote for your favorite artwork!
Similar to GR Art Prize the public gets to vote
on which artwork they like most but there is no
limit to how many times you can go and vote for
an artwork. We will be sharing in the fun
competition with Alward Elementary who will
be representing 1/2 of the art in the show. Lets
make sure we get out and vote and represent
Park Elementary. The owner will be giving out
great prizes for artworks that get the most votes!
There are different cash value gift cards to art
supply stores along with Biggby gift cards for
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place along with a Biggby
workers Staff choice award.
Finally, Look for Parks Wall's of Fame" framed
art work during the Grand Rapids Art Festival at
the GRAM starting the first of June and for
other special opportunities. More info to come.
I am so very proud of all of our students here at
Park and feel honored to be their art teacher.
Thanks again for all your support!

The Hudsonville Athletic Boosters are presenting the GMB/

Eagle 5k on March 26, 2016 at 9am. The event will take place at
Hudsonville High School with a NEW route running through the
city of Hudsonville. Special guest speaker this year will be Jim
Dreyer speaking at 8:30am in the gym. This year we are proud to
have Jim Dreyer as our guest speaker prior to the race. The open
water, Jim's greatest fear since a childhood near-drowning, has
become the playing field for much of his unprecedented athletic
success. Controlling fear and harnessing "Cornerstone Strength in
the Face of Burden" is the subject of his inspirational presentations
on the speaker's circuit.
