Frida Kahlo is Considered one of Mexico's greatest artists. Most of her paintings were self-portraits that express her own pain. The message she was trying to send with this artwork is to show love for the one she lost by committing suicide.

Title: The Suicide of Dorothy Hale
Artist: Frida Kahlo What I see when I look at this artwork is a girl jumping out of a building then landing on the ground to her death. I feel like Frida was trying to show the loss of a friend of hers with this artwork. The art element that catches my eye in Kahlos artwork is texture. The wind of clouds that surround the building and the falling girl shows the smoothness and shows how they are not solid objects. The mood for this artwork is sad. The painting shows a girl committing suicide by jumping out of a building. The message Kahlo was trying to send with this artwork is to show love for the friend she lost by
committing suicide. She tries to express suicide to others
and how serious it is especially for people with very large depression. I like this artwork because I love how Frida shows respect to the one she lost. She knew her friend was going through depression and so is Frida and I feel like she painted this to bring compassion for other women with depression.
