Stages of the Lesson


Warm-up: The teacher greets the students, introduces the guest and asks if anybody is
absent. (2 minutes)

Activity 1
Aim: - to revise the days of the week
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-Ss
Time: 10 minutes
Procedure: The teacher playas song and the Ss watch and listen carefully. They have to
guess words that were previously taught. Then, after they realize the words are the days
of the week, the teacher divides them in 3 groups and shares some pieces of paper that are
written the days of the week and that are mingled. The Ss have to re-order them. The
group that finishes first is the winner.
Materials: laptop, pieces of paper
Activity 2
Aim: - to set the scene
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-T
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: The T asks the Ss to open their books at page76 and points to some pictures of
the lesson and asks some questions that the Ss will answer.
Materials: book
Activity 3
Aim: - to develop the Ss listening skills and answer to the question related to the text
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 8 minutes

Procedure: The Ss will listen to the CD and will answer the question that is in the book in
pairs. (3/76). After checking the answer, the T plays the CD once again while the Ss listen
to the text carefully.
Materials: CD, book
Activity 4
Aim: - to develop the Ss reading skills
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-Ss
Time: 15 minutes
Procedure: The T reads the text and the Ss repeat chorally as a class and in groups. The T
checks the Ss pronunciation and intonation. Then, the Ss take roles and read out the
dialogue.
Materials:
Activity 5
Aim: - to check the Ss understanding of the lesson
Interaction: Ss-Ss
Time: 7 minutes
Procedure: The T writes two columns on the board with some of the questions and
answers from the text in random order. She asks the Ss to read the dialogue again silently
and match the questions to the answers.
Materials:
Homework: The Ss will have to copy the dialogue from the book. (3 minutes)
