InTASC Standard 9, Reflection and Continuous Growth

The teacher is a reflective practitioner who uses evidence to

continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her
choices and actions on others (students, families, and other
professionals in the learning community), and adapts practice to meet
the needs of each learner.
Brief Summary of Artifact:
This artifact is a reflective journal that I completed on a weekly basis
during my first student teaching placement. These journals required
me to be reflective of my classroom management, instructional
delivery, and planning. They also allowed me to set goals for the
following weeks regarding these domains.
Reflection:
I chose this artifact because it shows my growth as a reflective
teacher, with the goal of best meeting the needs of my students. This
journal proves reflective thought during my time teaching at Southwest
Middle School in the Reading School District. It also shows my ability
to continually evaluate my performance in Danielsons Framework, and
set new goals on how to grow within these domains.
