EDUC 230-01 Education Field Experience

Rationale Statement-Standard # 9

Standard # 9 Planning for Instruction

The teacher engages in ongoing individual and collaborative professional learning

designed to impact practice in ways that lead to improved learning for each student, using
evidence of student achievement, action research and best practice to expand a repertoire of
skills, strategies, materials, assessments and ideas to increase student learning (Professional
Development in New Jersey, 2014, p. 12.)

Artifact: Final Reflection

Date of Completion: Fall Semester 2017

Course Completed in: EDUC 230-01 Education Field Experience

Rationale Statement:
This artifact is a final reflection on my field experience this semester. I was placed in a

4th and 6th grade LLD (Learning and Language Disability) classroom. This is a reflection on what I

learned and thought of the experience. This directly correlates to standard 9.iii.1, the teacher

takes responsibility for student learning and uses ongoing analysis and reflection to improve

planning and practice, (Professional Development in New Jersey, 2014, p. 12). Reflecting on

this experience is essential to me becoming the best educator I can be. By observing how

others operate and manage a classroom, I was able to develop my own philosophies and

management plans to implement in the future. By interacting and at times leading classroom

lessons, I developed experience that will benefit me down the road. This reflection is

something I can look back on and see where I started and how much I have learned since the

experience.
